The most dangerous weapon in the Butcher's arsenal when fighting him solo is his claw & chain, as there isn't any way whatsoever for you to escape it should you find yourself caught by it, also, you should avoid senselessly killing the Gimps that surround you in his boss battle, as you both use them to knock him down, and he will also become immobilized while reeling them in when he hits them with his claw and chain, allowing you to score some free hits off of him.Ī Pigman, under the influence of Rose Kennedy, stomping on The Butcher.
Unlike every other boss in the game, the Butcher is uniquely vulnerable to being knocked down like most common enemies, and thus is vulnerable to ground punches, this weakness can be exploited in multiple ways, like throwing the Gimps or other enemies in his arena at him, which instantly knocks him to the ground. When being pummeled on the ground, he is able to counter attack, which is indicated by him raising his cleaver hand to preform a jab that knocks the aggressor off of him. This claw and chain attack cannot be escaped unless he is knocked over by another player character. When he hits anybody with his claw & chain, he will reel them in and then preform either of his two melee attacks, this move will affect either the gimps in his arena or any Pigman unfortunate enough to wander into it's path. The Butcher will mainly try and chase after any player character, and either preform his claw & chain attack, or when in proper range, preform two different melee attacks with his cleaver hand, a mighty overhead chop that can cause player characters to become stunned for a split second, or a simple jab. He is owner of, and/or the "Star Performer" of Club Caviar, the setting of Chapter 5: Deviance, and is also shown to be a presumably high-ranking member of the Bratva, given how he possesses tattoos of the Thieves Star, a design associated with Russia's criminal underworld, on his body. He is the boss of The Club, first being seen whipping somebody behind a glass screen while the protagonists confront Mikhail for his betrayal, and after the conversation with Mikhail is over, the Butcher will begin to break the screen while the lights flicker on and off as Gimps enter the room through an unknown entrance, and after the screen is finally broken, Mikhail will escape and the battle against him will begin.
He is completely silent, making it hard to gauge his actual personality, though it is clear he is a perverted sadist who has a fetish for BDSM, and an enjoyment of roleplaying as a butcher, with his subs being pigs and other livestock animals. He wears a very small amount of clothing, as he wears an all-black outfit consisting of a studded mask in the style of an executioner's hood, an apron covered in blood, and a pair of leather pants with a matching pair of boots. He also has a thieves star tattooed on both of his deltoids. He has a missing arm, replaced by a blade that is a mix between a meat clever and the head of an ax, and carries around a claw attached to his chain on the other. The Butcher is a horrifying hunched-over hulk of a man who is covered in the blood of others.
